The Wedding Gift: Trailer

Diana Longden (Julie Walters) becomes ill with an unknown and unidentified illness. Her loving husband Deric (Jim Broadbent) ends up letting his business slide in order to act a nurse and therapist. They are both essentially jolly people and joke a lot, and find morbid humour even in some of the most harrowing episodes of the disease. Deric meets a blind author Aileen Armitage (Sian Thomas) and they like each other immediately Deric finds her a sympathetic ear.Diana calls up Aileen and asks to meet her, and the working out of this sad and gentle situation is the story of the film. Another major character is Deric’s mother (Thora Hird) who is senile and makes dotty comments that are too good to be true!
